چکیده
Photoperiod and temperature are well-established environmental cues for gonadal growth in seasonally reproducing organisms. The photoperiod is known to regulate seasonal reproduction via induction of thyroid hormone regulating genes the saccus vasculosus (SV) fishes. However, SV absent many breeding fishes, including Heteropneustes fossilis. H. fossilis a long-day catfish which recrudescence begins six months earlier than spawning. present study attempted analyse expression hormone-regulating (tsh-b, tsh-r, dio2 dio3) brain, liver ovary. In upregulated thyrotropin-beta subunit (tsh-b), deiodinase2 (dio2) deiodinase3 (dio3) concomitant with increasing nature, may appear reproduction. Both deiodinases, dio3, were also ovarian tissue during phase. upregulation deiodinases enhance metabolism activity tissues, thereby facilitating their respective roles. these was assessed liver, ovary, kidney, skin, spleen gill tissues spawning period. ubiquitous point enhanced organ-specific role. speculates that tsh-b, dio3 reproductive phase might be involved regulation

Acute toxicity bioassay of dimethoate on freshwater airbreathing catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch).
Pesticides are chemicals used for pest control in the agricultural fields. They finally reach the surrounding water bodies through surface runoff affecting the aquatic fauna. Dimethoate is frequently used organophosphate pesticide due to its high effectiveness and rapid breakdown into environmentally safe products. A 96 hr static acute toxicity test was carried out to determine the LC50 value o...
متن کاملEndosulfan induced changes in phospholipids in the freshwater female catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch).
The catfish, H. fossilis were exposed to endosulfan for 30 days at sub-lethal concentration (0.002 ppm) during different phases of its annual reproductive cycle. Its impact on total (TP) and different phospholipids- phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatdylinositol (Pl) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) were measured in liver plasma and ovary. On pesticide exposure, during ...
متن کاملMicrocystin toxicity in a freshwater fish, Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch)
Microcystin is a toxin secreted by cyanobacteria, which are the dominant phytoplankton in eutrophic freshwater bodies. The present study reports histopathological, hematological and biochemical changes in the freshwater fish, Heteropneustes fossilis due to toxicity of microcystin. Toxic effects were observed in liver, kidney, corpuscles of Stannius, gills and gonads. Bilirubin concentration inc...
متن کاملMicrocystin-LR: Effects on Freshwater Catfish Heteropneustes fossilis Prolactin Cells
Background: Previous studies have been reported on the toxicity of Microcystin-LR, which is produced by cyanobacterial growth in fish, such as Heteropneustes fossilis (H. fossilis). However, no studies have been conducted on the effects of Microcystin-LR on the prolactin cells of H. fossilis. Methods: H. fossilis fish were intraperitoneally injected with Microcystin-LR (2.5μg/25g) and sacrif...
